PRATT, Kan. (AP) _ One man is dead after fire swept his home in Pratt.
A police news release said members of the City Fire Department arrived Thursday to find the house fully engulfed in flames. Soon firefighters discovered the body of the 72-year-old resident, John Thornton.
Investigators have asked for help from the Kansas Fire Marshall's Office in finding the cause of the fire. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of Thornton's death.
A neighbor called 911 after seeing flames coming from the windows of the house.
