KS Communities to get FEMA Aid for Tornado Relief

Kansas will be receiving federal relief money to help the recovery effort from the tornadoes last spring.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Thursday that it will give $33.6 million to communities affected by storms May 22nd through June 16th.

54 counties were eligible for federal disaster assistance.

The total cost of the recovery effort exceeded $44.7 million. The FEMA funds cover 75% of eligible costs.

This is the second disaster recovery effort from FEMA this year.
