City Council to Discuss Sumner School Site Next Week

The Sumner School will be back on the Topeka City Council agenda next week. They will be discussing what to do with the location.

It has been declared surplus real property by all city departments.

The former elementary school closed in 1996, and the city eventually bought the building.

Built in 1935, Sumner was an all-white elementary school before segregation was ruled unconstitutional.
