Topeka Man Suffers Life-Threatening Beating in Break-In

Two men have been arrested following a late-night attack sends the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Topeka Police officers were responding to a call about a break-in in progress at an apartment at 716 SW Polk just before 11 p.m. Tuesday night when they found the victim severely hurt.

After speaking with witnesses, authorities arrested two men in connection with the beating. The pair, Glen Morris, 49, of Wichita, and George McFarland, 50, of Topeka, were charged with Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Battery.

The beating is believed to be the only motive behind the break-in, according to police reports. Authorities continue to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
