COLUMBUS, Kan. (AP) _ A Pittsburg man is sentenced to life in
prison in the shooting death of a former Pittsburg State University
athlete.
Twenty-three-year-old Aaron Graham pleaded guilty in July to the
first-degree murder of Jamey Richardson in Baxter Springs in
January 2007. Graham will be eligible for parole in 20 years under
the sentence imposed Tuesday in Cherokee County District Court.
Richardson was 26 and had played basketball at Pittsburg State
from 2002-2004.
Two other men were sentenced earlier in the killing. Samuel
Becker received a life sentence for first-degree murder. Edward
Gordon was sentenced to 10 years for second-degree murder.
Authorities say the crime stemmed from the theft of a safe
belonging to Gordon.
