FORT RILEY, Kan. (AP) _ A bomb scare forces Fort Riley to
briefly evacuate its hospital and a nearby center for wounded
Army post officials say a clinic at the Irwin Army Community
Hospital received a telephone bomb threat at about 10:30 a.m.
That prompted the hospital's commander to have patients and
staff moved out of the hospital and nearby center. However, the
emergency room remained open.
The post said emergency personnel searched the buildings and
grounds and cleared them shortly after noon.
Officials don't know the source of the call, and the incident is
under investigation by military police.
