3 Killed in Johnson County House Fire

GARDNER, Kan. (AP) _ Three people are dead after a house fire in unincorporated Johnson County.

The Kansas City Star reports that a motorist and a neighbor spotted the blaze early yesterday, and all three victims were found in what officials believe were two bedrooms.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office today identifies the victims as 74-year-old Richard Fielder; his 54-year-old son, Ricky Fielder, and 72-year-old Doris McGinnis.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The one-story house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and collapsed about half an hour later.
