Topeka Police have arrested one man in conjunction with an fatal overnight stabbing at an apartment complex. Darwin David Law, 42, has been charged with second degree homicide and booked into the Shawnee Co. Department of Corrections.
Just after midnight, police received a 911 call from a apparently distressed person informing them of a stabbing at the apartments at 523 SW Taylor. Upon arrival, officers found John A. Chiselom mortally wounded, slumped over in a stairwell, according to reports.
Attempting to clear the area around them and make way for emergency medical personnel, officers encountered several people, including Law, whom they took into custody.
Investigators believe an argument between Law and Chiselom, 45, preceded the attack, but have not determined the source of the dispute.
