January 2, 2007- Goodyear strikers head back to work
Part of the Goodyear plant in Topeka will be shutting down for a brief period starting next Monday.
A company spokesperson told us today commercial truck tire production will be halted for a week, starting Monday the 22nd.
The plant is shutting down now because raw material supplies have been slowed because of Hurricane Ike.
The plant will continue producing off-road and military tires.
Workers affected will have option of using vacation or taking one week voluntary layoff.
Two other plants will be impacted over the next couple of weeks as well.
