The Topeka Shawnee county library presented Mater Dei Catholic School with the award for being the 2008 summer reading program champion.
The award is presented yearly to the Shawnee county school with the highest participation.
Before the ceremony today, kids in kindergarten through second grade had story time.
Andrea Hillebert promised students she would spray her hair blue to encourage them to participate. Father Jon even got in on the fun. His hair was painted gold.
