Topeka is making great strides when it comes to performance in smaller cities around the country. Topeka was up 52 spots from last year in the Best Performing Cities Report from the Milken Institute and Greenstreet Real Estate Partners.
It measures factors such as local concentration of high-tech industries as well as job growth and wages. Topeka was ranked 106 this year. That number is up from 158 in 2007.
