Dodge City Infant's Death Ruled Accidental

DODGE CITY, Kan. (AP) _ Dodge City police say a 3-month-old child's fatal fall was accidental, and no criminal charges will be filed.

A police news release said officers were dispatched Friday afternoon to a home to investigate a call reporting an unresponsive infant. Ivan Jared Marino-Adame was taken to Western Plains Medical Complex and pronounced dead.

An investigation found that the baby had fallen, and an autopsy by the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center showed that he died from head injuries consistent with a fall.

Police Chief John Ball said he did not release information about the incident until Tuesday because the department was waiting on autopsy results and had to meet with the family. Ball declined to release details about how the boy fell.
