KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) A suburban Kansas City woman who faked the birth of sextuplets to get financial support from her community is missing after walking away from a community release center.
Officials say 47-year-old Sarah Everson, of Grain Valley, left the Kansas City Community Release Center on Friday to go on a job search and never returned. They say she was seven months into her four-year sentence for felony stealing by deceit when she walked away from the center.
A warrant has been issued for her arrest.
Everson was paroled on Aug. 18 to the release center, where she was staying while looking for a job and preparing to go back into the community.
Everson and her husband, Kris, were living in the Kansas City suburb of Grain Valley in March 2006 when they made up the story about having sextuplets to tap the generosity of neighbors.
