Topeka elementary students learned what the Constitution means to America.

Whitson Elementary held it's annual Constitution Day Wednesday. Students gathered for a special assembly featuring Brigadier General Deborah Rose of the Kansas National Guard. She talked about how the Constitution means people in the United States enjoy certain freedoms.

Teachers also focused lessons on what the Constitution means and what it's for. Patriotic songs were the focus in music class, while students were dressed in red white and blue and were given American flags to wave during their assembly.
