LOS ANGELES (AP) -- DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. Chief Executive Jeffrey Katzenberg says he's optimistic about making a sequel to "Kung Fu Panda."
The computer animated feature film has brought in more than $600 million worldwide since its release in early June.
Katzenberg told analysts at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference in New York Wednesday morning, "I'm optimistic that all the things we need to make a great franchise and a great sequel will come together in the next few weeks or so."
He added he didn't want the company to get ahead of itself before a formal announcement.
The conference was broadcast online.
