KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) _ A former Johnson County teacher has been sentenced to 51 months in prison for using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.
A federal judge this week sentenced 58-year-old David Hazlett after he pleaded guilty to the crime in February.
In his plea, the Olathe man admitted that he persuaded two girls to undress in front of a Web cam and then saved the images on his computer.
The crime was discovered last year when Hazlett left his computer in an apartment after he had been evicted.
Prosecutors say the computer contained more than 1,800 images and almost three dozen videos of child porn.
Hazlett taught at schools in Leawood and Kansas City, Kansas; and was a substitute teacher in Olathe until he was fired last March.
