Storm siren testing in Shawnee County Monday found 4 of the counties 72 sirens not working properly. Sirens at the following locations were not working: 1101 SE Belleview, 2032 N Kansas, 21st and Washington, and 610 SE Deer Creek Pkwy.

Emergency management officials remind you sirens are not designed to be heard indoors. They recommend a NOAA weather radio for your home. Earlier this year, testing revealed malfunctions in Shawnee County's triggering mechanism for the sirens.
