TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is proclaiming this
week as Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Week in Kansas.
During an event in her ceremonial office Monday, Sebelius signed
a proclamation noting the sacrifices of businesses and employers
across the state who support men and women in uniform.
She noted that when soldiers are deployed, even for short missions to help with cleaning up storms, it leaves a hole in the employer's work force.
Maj. Gen. Tod Bunting, state adjutant general, said the employer support helps men and women that someone is looking out for them
and their families when they are gone.
