It rained for the third year in a row at the annual Topeka Heart Walk. Yet, that never seems to stop the crowds from coming out and walking to fight heart disease and stroke.
Kim Williams, the event's Executive Director could not thank those who participated enough for coming out to Reynolds Lodge. The sprinkles did not get in the way of the days events. Participants could choose to run or walk on a one or three mile course. Water was provided along the way. At the end of the walk Subway offered a free lunch and several other vendors offered free gifts as well.
Hearty the Topeka Heart Walk mascot was on hand to congratulate those who made the most money for the American Heart Association. He also danced with kids who could get their faces painted as well as play games.
