Kansas Man is Victim of High Waters

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Officials say the body of a 65-year-old Kansas man has been found in a flooded area north of Wichita.

The Wichita Eagle reports that the man from Sedgwick was traveling along a flooded road and drove his sport utility vehicle into high waters. His body was found about 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

His name was not immediately released.

Sedgwick County sheriff's Sgt. Gary Hargis says the man was able to get out of the Chevrolet Blazer and was found on the road.

Record rainfall flooded parts of Wichita, and National Weather Service officials say more flooding is expected along rivers throughout south-central Kansas.
