Dozens of people are celebrating new U.S. citizenship status in Topeka tonight.

About 70 people took their oaths to become citizens of the United States today at the Frank Carlson U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building this afternoon.

The Honorable U.S. District Senior Judge Sam Crow presided over the ceremony.

Each month, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Office naturalizes 65 to 80 new citizens.
