Topeka Man Heading Back to Prison On Gun Charges

31-year-old Joseph Hunter of Topeka served 34 months in state prison starting in 1994 for accidentally shooting his friend Donnelle Frye.

Now he is heading back to prison for unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.

He will serve six years in federal prison on this charge. He was sentenced today.

Witnesses said he was playing a prank on Donelle in 1994. He put a gun to her head and it accidentally discharged.
