Crime is Down in Topeka

Crime in the Capital City fell 18 percent so far this year. A report was released to the City Council by Police Chief Ron Miller Tuesday night. It contains a break down of each area in the city and compares crime from the second quarter of 2007 to the second quarter of 2008.

Sgt. Lance Feyh of the Topeka Police Department says burglary was one of the crime categories to see an increase in the second quarter. Arson is also up by 5.

Theft is down by almost 700. Auto theft is down 84 and business and individual robberies are also down.
