CHESTER, Va. - Authorities say part of a building under construction in a Richmond, Va. suburb has collapsed, and as many as 12 workers may be inside.
Chesterfield County Fire Lieutenant Matt Coffin says 911 dispatchers received reports that a dozen workers were inside when a 60-foot-section came crashing down Wednesday.
Crews are at the scene attempting to stabilize the rubble before going inside. Coffin says emergency teams have not determined if anyone is trapped.
The two-story wood structure is part of Chester Village Green, a mixed used development in Chester. The community is about 15 miles south of Richmond.
