Topeka Elementary School Forced Into Lockdown

Quincy Elementary School will resume classes as scheduled Wednesday after a short lockdown Tuesday. The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m in the 1500 block of N.E. Quincy in Topeka.

Authorities say they were called to the area in reference to gunshots being fired. School officials forced the lockdown while police made sure the area was clear.

The lockdown lasted about 30 minutes. The incident happened while school was still in session. No injuries were reported.
