A former Auburn Washburn Elementary art teacher is going to federal prison for 7 years.

In June, 37 year old Coen Potts of Topeka admitted to having thousands of images of child pornography on his home computer.

He told investigators he told a woman he met through a dating service that he wanted to have children with her so he could "deflower them".

He showed the woman images of child pornography and told her he had been unsuccessful with women his entire life.

Potts was prosecuted as part of the project safe childhood, in the department of justice.

Potts taught at both Pauline Central and Pauline South schools in Topeka.
