Spirit Aerosystems says it's cutting production on some Boeing products as a result of the machinists strike against Boeing. Wichita-based Spirit said it will shorten the work weeks of some employees like it did during the machinists' 4 week strike in 2005.

President and CEO Jeff Turner said moves are necessary due to what he called ``an unfortunate situation.'' Spirit said it is withdrawing its previous 2008 financial guidance as a result of the strike against boeing.
