The Head Coach of the Topeka RoadRunners thought softball would be a great way for his team to bond. That decision came after several of the teammates gave their coach lip about how softball was not a "man's sport."
"In the beginning of a season, as a coach, you look for ways to spark team unity and chemistry," coach Scott Langer said. Langer plays adult softball on a team called "The Persuaders." RoadRunners teammates admitted that they were nervous about playing their coach but were up to the challenge.
Coach Langer came out swinging hitting a home run right off the bat. There is probably no need to say which team won this game.
The RoadRunners begin their regular season in Blaine, MN at the annual NAHL Showcase on Wednesday, September 17th. They will play two exhibition games at Landon Arena on Friday, September 12 and Sunday the 14th.
