The family of a brain-dead teenager is in a fight with the University of Kansas Hospital.
The family has filed a restraining order against the hospital, preventing the teen from being removed from life support.
Fourteen-year-old Michael Todd of Kansas City was shot Tuesday at a Blue Springs apartment. A witness told police that the gun might have gone off accidentally.
A hospital spokesman says doctors have determined that the teen is brain dead.
Michael's family filed for the restraining order in Wyandotte County District Court. The hospital plans to respond to the injunction Monday.
