(Manhattan, KS)--About 20 Manhattan-area Army Reserve soldiers will soon be heading to Iraq. The 538th Transportation Company Detachment had a farewell ceremony Saturday afternoon.

The small unit is doing a big thing by going to Iraq.

They say it is difficult to leave family members behind. However, they say they have made their unit their new family. In only a few months of training, they have bonded, making their journey easier together.

The unit will be performing ground and air drills, and will be moving containers.
