MIDDLETOWN, N.J. - Rocker Jon Bon Jovi hosted a fundraiser Friday night at his New Jersey mansion for Barack Obama.
Obama spoke for about eight minutes, vowing, that he won't be bullied, smeared, or lied about. He added that he doesn't believe in coming in second.
About 100 people paid $30,800 dollars a-piece to attend the dinner.
The take is to be split 50-50 between the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
Earlier, Obama attended a $2,300-per-person reception at the
home of a veteran party fundraiser. John McCain can raise no more campaign money because he's opted to accept about 84 million in public funding and the restrictions that go with it. Obama turned down the public funding for the general election campaign, figuring he can raise and spend more on his own.
