Seinfeld's First Microsoft Ad Gets Thumbs Down

NEW YORK (AP) -- Cyber-critics are saying that Jerry Seinfeld's
first ad for Microsoft is a dud.

The first ad in a $300 million Microsoft campaign features Seinfeld and Bill Gates. It takes place in a shoe store, where Seinfeld helps Gates
buy a pair of shoes. At no time during the 90-second ad is Microsft
directly mentioned.

Abbey Klaassen writes in Ad Age magazine that she has no idea what the spot is about. Another writer said flat out that the ad is ``not funny.''
