The City of Topeka extended the deadline for contractors to make a bid on managing Topeka's Cypress Ridge Golf Course.
The bid deadline was Thursday, but the city extended it to Friday, September 12th.
On Wednesday, Shawnee County officials gave the city an annual property tax amount to pass along to contractors interested in making a bid for the course. City spokesman Dave Bevens said the city extended the bidding deadline to give interested bidders a reasonable amount of time to take that property tax information into consideration.
The county estimates property taxes of $43, 310 dollars.
The city is hoping for a deal where it would own the course, but a private management company would assume any losses or profits.
