TOPEKA, Kan. - A Topeka man will serve 73 years for the murder of one man and shooting of another.
Antwan Peppers received a Hard 50 life sentence Wednesday, September 3 for the murder of Jermaine Cunningham on July 15, 2006.
Terrell Hayes-Osby was in the car with Cunningham that night and was also shot in the driveby shooting.
Peppers received 23 years for injuring Hayes-Osby.
District Attorney Robert Hecht has said the shooting may have been gang-related and in retaliation for a shooting earlier the same day that Hayes-Osby pleaded guilty to.
