Last Guard Soldiers Leave for Louisiana

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Officials say the last soldiers departed Wednesday morning to
help distribute relief supplies, provide security and support the
Louisiana National Guard. The units are expected to be gone up to
15 days.

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius directed the state to honor an executive
order from Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal to lift certain restrictions
on motor carriers during the disaster.

Kansas also has sent a handful of personnel farther east as
Hanna approaches the U.S. coast, with an expected landfall later
this week.
