A man convicted in an Emporia apartment explosion that killed a mother and her young son wants a third trial.

The Kansas Supreme court Tuesday heard arguments in the appeal of Wallace Dixon the 3rd.

He was first convicted in 2002 for the deaths of Dana Hudson and her 13 month old son Gabriel.

The conviction was overturned, and a new trial ordered where Dixon was convicted again.

The court isn't expected to issue a decision on a third trial until mid-October.
