The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame will stay open thanks to the gift of a Florida businessman.

The Wichita Business Journal reports Bill Koch has donated $100,000 to the city of Wichita to pay a one-year principal payment and six months interest.

The article also says the donation will allow the Hall of Fame to stay in its Wichita Old Town location near 2nd & Mead Streets for another year. It also reports the Wichita City Council had voted unanimously to evict the Hall of fame if it didn't make a payment by September 5th.

Koch is a Wichita native and Hall of Fame inductee for his achievements in sailing.
