The names of the 3-year-olds who died Sunday are being released. Raylynn M. Gardner was born September 24, 2004. Her brother, Kyler A. Gardner was born August 2, 2005. They were reported missing by their mother at 1:40 Sunday afternoon. Officers arrived at 2:05 and found the children at 3:14. Both toddlers were unresponsive when they were discovered inside a disabled family car in the driveway of their home.

Medical aid was immediately provided for the children who were pronounced deceased. The Shawnee County Coroner's office says the children died of hyperthermia and were otherwise healthy.

A memorial fund has been set up to help the family with funeral costs. If you would like to donate you can visit any Capitol City Bank location. Checks can be mailed to 3710 SW Topeka Blvd. Topeka, KS 66609

MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU!

I remember when this story first aired, I saw alot of negative comments about how the whole thing went down. Instead of trying to place the blame on someone, let's learn from this tragedy and educate people about the dangers of broken down vehicles, refrigerators and freezers combined with summer heat or even winter cold. I was personally involved in this particular situation and from where I sat, I could do absolutely nothing except support those on the scene. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family, the deputies and the medical personnel who were there. In these childrens honor, let's make sure that this type of tragedy NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN....It's all about education and making people aware of things that are potentially dangerous that alot of us take for granted, is the best and only way I can think of to keep this type of thing from happening again !! GOD BLESS EVERYONE INVOLVED !!!

I'm so sorry for this terrible situation. I can't imagine losing one of my babies, let alone both of them. Hopefully God gives the parents the strength to move one.
