Riley Co. Search For Suspect In Rape On Friday

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Riley Co. Police Department (RCPD) says its looking for a suspect in rape that happened around noon on Friday.

The victim, who is in her mid-20's, called police around 12:45 p.m. She told them the attack occurred about an hour before then in the northern part of the county and took off on foot.

Several RCPD officers as well as member of the Kansas Highway Patrol and Kansas Dept. of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism searched a heavily wooded area, but didn't find him.

They are currently looking for a black man in his mid-20's who weighs about 160 lbs and has some facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black sweat pants.

The RCPD said it would not release any other information "[d]ue to the nature of this investigation."
