Kansas Schools Rank Number #5 In U.S.

TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW)-- Kansas schools should be patting themselves on the back for a job well done this year.

Kansas has been ranked in the top ten states for best school system in the United States for 2014.

Wallet Hub ranked Kansas as number five overall.

Wallet Hub studied the quality of education in fifty U.S. states and the District of Columbia to identify those with the best and worst school systems.

Wallet Hub analyzed 12 key metrics, from student teacher ratios and dropout rates to test scores and bullying incident rates.

The number one state is New Jersey and falling in last place is the District of Columbia.
