32 Year-Old Man Killed In Wreck North Of Randolph

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- A deadly wreck claimed the life of a Riley man and re-routed a long stretch of the highway along Tuttle Creek Lake for several hours on Monday.

Thirty-two year-old Steven Farnsworth was heading south along U-77 around 4:40 p.m. when his 1994 Pontiac Firebird crossed the center line about two miles north of Randolph, according to Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reports.

His car smashed head-on into a 2003 Dodge Ram, being driven by Megan Ewell.

Farnsworth was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 19 year-old Randolph woman was rushed to KU Medical Center.

The highway reopened around 8:15 p.m., according to RCPD.
