2 Killed In Overnight Wreck In Topeka Identified

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Officials have identified the two victims of an early morning Topeka car crash are James F. Bowen, 39 and Matthew R. Allen, 16, both of Topeka. Bowen was identified as the driver and Allen as the passenger.

Shawnee County Dispatch told WIBW that Bowen and Allen died in the car crash that happened around 1:45 a.m. at S.W. 25th St. and Villa West Dr.

Accident reconstruction teams were on the scene to determine what caused the accident. Officers said that the occupied car struck an unoccupied vehicle parked along the north side of SW 25th.

The SW 25th and SW Villa West Drive intersection will remain closed until the investigation is completed and officials recommend using alternate routes.
