TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- An early morning St Mary's fire caused around a quarter of a million dollars in damage.
Fire crews arrived at Wichman's Automotive shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday.
Several vehicles and the automotive shops office were completely destroyed before fire fighters could put out the flames thirty minutes later.
Witnesses say a motorcycle couple saw the fire first and tried to move the vehicles but could not find keys inside. They were able to save a Jeep.
St Marys has had several recent arson cases but officials believe the fire was an accidental electrical fire which began in a car next to the building. Authorities estimate the damage to be around $200,000 to $300,000.
