MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The missing Manhattan teen who police located just a few hours after they released her picture has been reunited with her family, according to the Riley Co. Police Dept. (RCPD)

Arayah Gauna was found "unharmed and.. not in danger" in the 1500 block of Humboldt Street around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, the RCPD said in a statement released later that night.

After they found her, officers took the 16 year-old to the police dept. and then returned her to her family.

Earlier in the afternoon, the RCPD had asked for help finding her after she disappeared the previous day and had not been seen since. After finding her, police wouldn't say why she didn't go back home, but did say that she did so willingly.

Police did want to thank everyone for their help trying to track Gauna down. They pointed out that with the help of the local media more than 25,000 social media accounts saw there messages.

They didn't say why she disappeared and didn't go home, but added that she did so willingly.
