TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka police responded to a disturbance at 8th and Plass Friday morning where they confronted an 'axe-wielding' man who reportedly broke out the window of a neighbors truck.

After officers arrived the man confronted officers with a knife. Following a struggle to disarm the man he was finally put in handcuffs.

The suspect, described as a 44 year old black male, was transported by AMR to a local hospital. No name has been released because this may be a mental issue

Officials said there were no injuries and the only damage was the broken truck window.
