TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Shawnee County Sheriffs Officers stopped an early Thursday morning burglary and booked two suspects.
Officers responded to a 'burglary in process' report in the 5300 block of NE Kincaid Rd about 12:27 a.m. and observed two men outside the home carrying what they believed to be stolen items.
One suspect surrendered and was taken into custody. The other fled on foot and was arrested about an hour later.
Booked into the Shawnee County Jail on charges of Burglary, Theft, Criminal Damage to Property and Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer.
The Kansas Highway Patrol Helicopter Unit, Topeka Police Department and K-9 Deputies all assisted in the arrests.
