TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The station wagon linked to Topeka's third homicide of the year -- all of which have happened within the past month -- has been found, according to the Topeka Police Dept.

The silver Dodge Magnum was located in Kansas City, Missouri. In a brief statement released Wednesday evening, they said it was "unoccupied and abandoned." No other information was released.

The car was connected to the killing of Jermel Robbins, who was shot in front of his home in the 2100 block of Kentucky Ave. last Friday. Witnesses told investigators they saw it leaving the scene afterwards.

Despite early reports that a person was arrested in connection with Robbins' killing over the weekend, investigators are still looking for a suspect. Initial reports early Sunday afternoon indicated someone was arrested in Independence, Missouri., Several hours later though, TPD Capt. Brian Desch revised the report saying that arrest only involved narcotics and was not related to Robbins' death.

If anyone has information regarding this case they can call Detectives at 368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 234-0007. Tips can also be taken at Topekacrimestoppers.com or text to “Crimes” 274637 and start the message with “Top Tip”.
