Topeka Man Dies After Head-On Crash

ATCHISON CO., Kan. (WIBW) A deadly head-on collision in Atchison County claimed the lives of two people, including a Topeka man.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says that around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Richard Jacobs, 77, of Topeka was traveling northeast on US-59 highway when he went left of center and ran his Ford Explorer head on into Joel Wilburn, 25, of Atchison.

Both Wilburn and Jacobs died at the scene.

KHP says that Wilburn was wearing a seat belt, but Jacobs was not.
