Sentencing Delayed for Anastacio Gallardo

TOPEKA, KAN. - Anastacio Gallardo, the man who pleaded guilty last month to unlawful sexual relations with an inmate and two counts of trafficking contraband in a correctional facility.

Gallardo was set to be sentenced today, but the state motioned for an upward dispositional departure, which was denied in court today.

His sentencing has been rescheduled for July 29, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.

In exchange for his plea, one rape charge was dismissed.

Gallardo was the victim's vo-tech plumbing instructor at the women's correctional facility east of Topeka.
