SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) -- Two people wanted on outstanding warrants have been taken into custody after a standoff in Salina.

Police received a tip that 29-year-old Adam Humphrey and 25-year-old Heather Davis were inside of a home, located at 613 N. 13th. Humphrey had Saline county warrants for unlawful possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony interference with a law enforcement officer and felony battery of a law enforcement officer. He also has warrants in Sedgwick County for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and theft.

Davis had Saline county warrants for failing to appear for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and felony obstruction. She also has an additional warrant in Ellis county for failure to appear on unlawful possession of amphetamine.

Officers surrounded the home, just after 12 p.m. Two people exited, but Davis and Humphrey remained inside. The SWAT team was called to the scene and after several hours of unsuccessful attempts to get the pair to surrender, tear gas was fired into the home.

Davis was taken into custody when she exited the home. Humphrey was captured at the back of the home a short time later.

The standoff lasted just over 4 hours.
